We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law. This page explains our retention periods per data type.
| Data type | Retention while account is active | After account deletion |
|---|---|---|
| Profile & account data | Kept while account is active | Deleted or anonymised within 30 days |
| Posts, comments, stories, reels, messages | Kept while account is active, per your own deletion actions | Deleted within 30 days, except copies already shared/forwarded by other users or retained for active moderation cases |
| Login history & IP address logs | Rolling 12 months, for security and fraud prevention | Deleted within 30 days of account deletion, unless part of an active security investigation |
| Moderation case records (reports, actions, appeals) | Retained for the life of the case plus a defensibility period | Retained up to 3 years after account deletion where needed to defend against legal claims, demonstrate DSA compliance, or handle repeat-offender detection |
| Payment/transaction records (VIP subscriptions) | Retained per transaction | Retained up to 10 years where required by Greek tax/accounting law, regardless of account deletion |
| Law-enforcement request records | Retained per request | Retained as required by applicable law and our own accountability obligations |
| Cookie consent records | Retained to demonstrate compliance | Retained for a reasonable evidentiary period after your last visit |
Some data must be kept beyond account deletion for legal reasons — for example, tax law requires us to keep financial records for a set number of years, and an active moderation or legal dispute may require us to preserve relevant records until it's resolved. Where this applies, we restrict access to that retained data to what's needed for the specific legal purpose.
We maintain encrypted backups for disaster recovery. Data deleted from the live system is purged from backups on our normal backup-rotation cycle, which does not exceed 90 days.
See our Privacy Policy and Data Deletion Policy for how to request deletion or correction.
