Data Deletion Policy

1. How to delete your account

Go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete Account. You'll be asked to confirm. This is a real, self-service deletion — we do not require you to email support to delete your account.

2. What happens when you delete your account

  • Your account is immediately deactivated and hidden from other users;
  • Your profile, posts, comments, stories, reels, and messages are scheduled for permanent deletion;
  • Deletion completes within 30 days, per our Data Retention Policy;
  • Some data is retained longer only where legally required (e.g. financial records, active moderation/legal cases) — see the Data Retention Policy for exactly what and how long;
  • Content you sent to others (e.g. messages, comments on others' posts) may remain visible to those recipients as part of their own record, unless we're able to remove it from their view too.

3. Cancelling deletion

If you change your mind, log back in within the deletion window to cancel the deletion request and reactivate your account, if this option is offered at the time.

4. Deleting specific content instead

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove individual posts, comments, photos, or messages — each has its own delete option.

5. Requesting deletion of data we hold outside your account

For data we may hold that isn't directly account-linked (e.g. if someone reported content you posted and that report record persists after your account is gone, or IP logs from before deletion), email zinklystudio@gmail.com with your request; we'll act on it consistent with our retention obligations.
